If you or someone you know has a disability and wants to go to work then the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation is the right place for you. MDRS is the largest state agency committed solely to helping people with disabilities achieve independence through employment.

Regardless of a person's disability, MDRS has numerous programs and services that provide a seamless array of services. From vocational evaluation, guidance and training to job placement, to job coaching, to providing assistive technology, MDRS staff are dedicated to meeting the employment goals of their clients.

Employment allows people with disabilities to become contributing members of society that greatly enhances their self-esteem. Employing people with disabilities is also one of Mississippi's best economic investments. For each dollar spent rehabilitating our clients, $11.00 is returned to the economy through their employment.

Each year between 15,000 and 20,000 Mississippians receive employment-related services and assistance. MDRS provides these services through the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind.
