  • America's Heroes at Work – Is a U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) project that focuses on the employment challenges of returning service members living with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and/or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

  • American Foundation for the Blind – A nonprofit organization offers information about educational and technological resources for the visually impaired.

  • American Printing House for the Blind – Promotes independence of blind & vision – impaired persons by providing special media, tools & materials for education & life.  

  • Americans with Disabilities Act – Provides Information on ADA regulations including ADA Publications, ADA Business Briefs, Design Standards.

  • Arc of Mississippi – A grassroots advocacy organization for citizens of all ages with cognitive, intellectual, and developmental disabilities, and their families.

  • Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialist – Was established to support professionals working in the field of driver education / driver training and transportation equipment modifications for persons with disabilities through education and information dissemination.

  • Center for Universal Design – Is a national research, information, and technical assistance center that evaluates, develops, and promotes universal design in housing, public and commercial facilities, and related products.

  • Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Disabilities – Links to federal resources and fair housing laws.

  • Disability.gov – Federal web site that connects the more than 50 million Americans with disabilities to thousands of trusted resources on disability-related issues, programs and services. Disability.gov is not just for Americans with disabilities, but also for parents of children with disabilities, employers, workforce and human resource professionals, veterans, educators, caregivers and many others.

  • Disaboom – Is an online resource for people living with and/or directly affected by disability.

  • Food Stamps – Fact sheets, contact information, and how to apply for food stamps in MS.

  • Health and Human Services Office on Disability – Oversees the implementation and coordination of disability programs, policies and special initiatives pertaining to the over 54 million persons with disabilities in the United States.

  • International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication – Is an organization devoted to advancing the field of Augmentative and Alternative communication.

  • Job Access – Is a resume bank specifically for people with disabilities.

  • Job Accommodation Network – Has a wealth of information and examples of types of accommodations that may be necessary for certain jobs and disabilities.  

  • Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center – Is a centralized source of accurate, up-to-date, and objective information on topics dealing with deafness and hearing loss in   the age group 0-21.

  • Medical Multimedia Group – Is a great resource for different repetitive stress injuries.   It explains them in plain English, and gives great pictures to who the anatomy of the injury.

  • Mississippi AgrAbility Project – Educates and assists agricultural workers with disabilities and their families.

  • Mississippi Commission for Volunteer Service – MCVS empowers organizations, individuals and businesses to give back to their communities through shared links, our discussion lists and our new volunteer matching portal, Volunteer Mississippi .  In fact, our mission is to engage and support Mississippians of all ages and backgrounds in service to their communities.

  • Mississippi Society for Disabilities – Provides a broad spectrum of programs and services to meet the needs of Mississippi children and adults with disabilities, thus enabling them to achieve maximum independence and gain the greatest possible quality of life.

  • National AgrAbility Project – Was created to assist people with disabilities employed in agriculture.

  • National Association of the Deaf – Focuses on grassroots advocacy and empowerment, captioned media, deafness-related information and publications, legal assistance, policy development and research, public awareness, and youth leadership development.

  • National Federation of the Blind – Nonprofit consumer and advocacy organization of blind persons discusses membership, guide dogs, technology, related groups, and the organization’s history.  

  • National Highway Traffic Safety Administration – NHTSA is the federal government agency with the authority to regulate the manufacture of automotive adaptive equipment and modified vehicles used by persons with disabilities.  

  • National Organization of Rehabilitation Partners – Promotes employment and independence for people with disabilities.

  • National Rehabilitation Association – Is an advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities, whose mission is to provide advocacy, awareness and career advancement for professionals in the fields of rehabilitation.

  • National Spinal Cord Injury Association – Is dedicated to helping the hundreds of thousands of Americans coping with the results of spinal cord injury and disease.
